This “Bush to Beach” adventure will take us on thrilling game drives through the diverse landscapes of Eastern South Africa, culminating in 3-days of coastal and beach time, diving, snorkeling and swimming with dolphins! AFRICAN SAFARI & YOGA RETREAT ITINERARY

Day 1 – 3 . . . Zululand’s Amakhosi Game Lodge

We will meet you at the King Shaka Airport and drive together to the stunning and intimate Amakhosi Luxury Game Lodge on the banks of Zululand’s Mkuze River in the Amakhosi private game reserve. Each morning and evening we will join our guide and tracker on game drives through a blend of savannah, wetlands and mountains… home to ‘Big 5′ game. Our yoga practices will be in beautiful settings—energizing and relaxing!  Down-time options include relaxing by the pool, reading in the lodge library or one of the outdoor lodges, and optional spa & massage services.

 Day 3 – 6 . . . World Heritage Site, Isimangaliso Wetland Park

Delight in three romantic nights and four glorious days on Lake Shengeza Kosi Forest Lodge, in the unspoiled wilderness Isimangaliso Wetland Park, now internationally recognised as a World Heritage Site. These luxury thatched bush suites are set in a beautiful sand forest, on the banks of the Kosi Lake. The 16-bed lodge, with it’s romantic open-air en-suite bathrooms, fine cuisine and eco-luxury accommodations, is one South Africa’s best ecotourist destinations. Explore this truly unique ecosystem by boat tour through the Kosi Bay outdoors and a snorkel at the world famous “aquarium” in the mouth of the lagoon.

Day 6 – 9 . . . Yoga on the beach at Elephant Coast, Sodwana Bay!

Swim with dolphins, snorkel in the colorful reefs, and meet the rich diversity of sea creatures, including see turtles, whale sharks and exotic fish species. Sodwana Bay National Park is a narrow strip of forested sand dunes located along the KwaZulu Natal coast. It is the only scuba diving area along the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park (now renamed to Isimangaliso) coastline. Classified as one of the top dive sites in the world, this 50 km reef complex boasts around 95 species of hard and soft coral, sponges, other invertebrates and around 1200 fish species. (Diving is an optional excursion). We have three full days  to explore the many treasures of the Indian Ocean at Sodwana Bay!

Day 9 – 11 . . . Ballito Coast, “Dolphin Coast”

Our final two nights will be at a small guesthouse on the coastal town of Ballito, also known as “Dolphin Coast” for it’s many sighting of dolphins. Ballito is situated 40 km north of  Durban, between the green rolling hills of the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast and the blue rolling waves of the warm Indian ocean. These last couple days are a perfect time to relax on the golden sandy beaches and soak up the African sun, or shop for souvenirs and wander the coastal town. Yoga will be by the pool or on the beach!
