YOGA WITH PETE GUINOSSO
Known for his joyful energy, skilled touch and sense of humor, Pete Guinosso creates a spiritual yet light-hearted environment for his students to uncover the deeper benefits of yoga. Pete’s teaching style is best described as a Forrest Yoga Inspired Vinyasa Flow. If you’re new to yoga and not quite sure what that means, the best way to explain his classes is they are designed to help you journey toward connecting your mind, body and spirit through breath work and awareness. Powerful sequences are designed to create a fluid practice of meditative movement, while also cultivating an awareness of alignment. Sometimes we laugh, sometimes we cry, but no matter what, we always work on building strength and flexibility. And we always sweat! Pete believes that vigorous asanas (poses) are a pathway to helping us overcome our self-imposed limitations; through a challenging yoga practice, we can see our potential to overcome any difficulty.
STUNNING ECO-VILLA IN THE HEART OF TUSCANY
Imagine an enchanting ancient villa perched on a hilltop in Tuscany, surrounded by 750-acres of rolling hills, bio-dynamic fields and vineyards. Originally occupied by the ancient Etruscans, the villa has been lovingly restored with the utmost care for originality, aesthetic beauty and earth sustainability. Solar panels for heating and hot water, a salt water pool with minimal chemicals, natural paints and renders, and a constant eye to managing consumption and recycling make this a particularly unique eco-villa in this part of the world.
Located in the heart of Tuscany, between Florence and Siena near the famous medieval towns of Volterra and San Gimignano, this beautiful hotel and retreat center could not be more perfectly situated for privacy and nature, while granting access to charming villages for shopping, wine-tasting and sight-seeing. The produce and grains are grown on bio-dynamic land or sourced from neighboring organic farms. Bread, honey, jams, wine, olive oil, soaps, toiletries, and other herbal products are all made from natural sources from the estate and the surrounding areas.
The Yoga shala, a room in classic Tuscan architecture with stone arches and windows, is located near the main villa and overlooks fields and gardens. Other public spaces in the main villa include a grand ballroom with balcony, a library and a music room, gracious drawing rooms and dining rooms (all with fireplaces), a billiard room, a gym, a cinema room, a children’s playroom, a massage/therapy room and a sheltered courtyard with a loggia.

Not your "standard" yoga retreat- Pete encourages you to laugh, play, share, let loose, dress up, build bonds, break down walls, climb mountains (sometimes literally!) and take time to tap into a deep sense of gratitude, no matter where you are, or what the landscape is. When I joined my first retreat with him I only knew one other person going, but left with a large group of friends and an even larger sense of community that I continue to be a part of long after. I loved every minute of the experience and look forward to many more retreats with him in the future!— Laura S., USA

Pete's yoga retreats are my perfect storm. Pete's amazing Vinayasa, assists from Pete and his assistants, deep connections with fellow yogis & yoginis, great food, night sky, hiking, swimming, campfires, song. These are my favorite things and Pete puts them together gracefully. Everything about it works for me. I've been on retreat with him to two amazing national parks, Joshua Tree and Mt. Lassen, where I not only had a great time, but came away with deep connections, lovers and roommates. Pete's community is like no other and he takes great care to make sure everyone is included, feels connected to him, to yoga, to the community. The result is this crazy cocktail of connection and self-expression. I'm always renewed and deepened every time I'm with Pete and his retreats are a full body/soul/spirit cleanse. I'm so grateful to be a part of this authentic and joyous community. — Brandon P.
Pete is as graceful a human being as you could ever hope to have in your life. He has taught me how to have a light heart, how to laugh at myself, and he introduced me to resources that have dramatically transformed my life. His teaching is bright and shiny, playful and understanding. He gives you the space to process on your mat and makes it feel safe to do so. Pete is a community-builder and he supports the people he shares space and time with. He really lives from his heart. Don't think about taking his classes or hopping on for one of his workshops/retreats....just go! — Jessie D.
In a beautiful atmosphere with a loving and open heart, Pete, and his beautiful assistant/wife Stephanie equally offered professional training, insight, and introspection for our unique, dynamic, and creative New Years Retreat. It offered us the opportunity to burst into the year 2013! We had a great time on the retreat! Our New Years Vision Boards hang in our bedrooms today and we each draw on the teachings, tools, and laughter we gained from our experiences which continue to inform us as we walk through our conscious dreams in life! I look forward to our next opportunity! Love and thanks.— Erin L.
